Cyanotic will be playing as direct support for Faderhead on April 3rd @ Reggies in Chicago, IL. We don’t usually enjoy a lot of current industrial dance music, but you know you have heard this song, and you know it is catchier than a lot of other crap polluting all our collective ears. Nice old Nitzer Ebb swing arp and memorable vocal hooks.

The new Cyanotic lineup is coming together. Our new drummer is Paul Wood and he will be visiting Glitch Mode Recordings for jam time this coming weekend. I, Sean Payne, am busy making new live mixes of all our robo noises. “F@5h10n V1k+um5″ should go over well with the crowd at this show. What do you think?

Also in Cya-news, a new volume of the Med:Pack series is close to completion. Did you hear Vol. 1? It’s available direct from this website (here) and fixtstore.com.

Yes! I am very happy that interesting artists are now getting a lot of mainstream recognition. Sleigh Bells has been a noisy electropop favorite of mine since JP from Rabbit Junk told me about it in the summer of 2010. You might remember that brief tour and some gory details. If not, ask somebody who’s cooler than you. That guy who always says “I was THERE, man!” That guy likes validation. A LOT.

So in… uh… June (2010) was the 2nd time doing our always-fun/now-semi-infamous Cya-Junk shows in Portland, San Fran, Los Angeles and Chicago. For the people who weren’t there (and there were probably only 250 people in attendance if you combine all the shows), for these shows it was Cyanotic (me, Chris, Eris) with JP from Rabbit Junk onstage playing a midi controller and shouting backup vocals. Every night Cyanotic plus JP would flip and become Rabbit Junk plus me (Sean) and Chris. It was a lot of fun and we are preparing to do something live again soon!

But all that’s bullshit talk that could come off as puffing our chests at vanquished enemies, or worse yet… tiring your brain because your brain only responds to 140 characters…

Here’s the duo that got us through that whole disas-tour (<--- pun for smarties) + made us smile every fuckin' day.

Now I am happy. Back to work @glitchmode studios :-D

To clarify some recent changes to the tour lineup, Die Krupps was the original co-headliner for the tour, but it looks like passports and visa issues for the German-based band didn’t go come together in time, so unfortunately all fans of “To The Hilt” and synth-metal covers of Metallica will have to wait for the mighty return of Krupps-American style for awhile.

In the meantime, the tour is moving along with Dismantled in place of Die Krupps beginning on May 25th (Conjure One will be the replacement from the 20th-23rd). This is kind of a full circle event for us in the Cyanotic/Glitch Mode ranks, as some of you uber-fans might remember all the way back to summer 2005, when Dismantled and Cyanotic hit the road for a couple weeks together. This will be a quality reunion for both bands.

So, just to reiterate to the people who enjoy skimming through blog entries but don’t necessarily catch every word, the tour is moving forward, as planned. We are looking forward to seeing all you guys as we plow through the US and Canada over this next month. Expect a lot of life-on-the-road style videos featuring us Cya-guys in a variety of adventures on tour. We have 5 video cameras and constant access to a Wi-Fi source this time. This whole “documenting a tour” thing is going to work out this time!

See a whole lot o’ you guys in the very near future.
